Firmware Update Speedangle Apex Lap Timer
Important Speedangle Firmware Update – Current Firmware version is DASH_APEX, ENG.R010
Below is a detailed instruction on the firmware update alert:
Symptom:
The lap time in run time display is (0.1 sec * the amount of sector) shorter, but correct in review and downloaded logs.
Start/Finish line not created when Auto-Set used in some cases.
Serial Numbers:
Timers with Serial Numbers A268001 to A2680150 must update.
Timers with Serial Numbers A2680151 to A2680168 are updating firmware from 009 to 010.
Serial Numbers higher than A2680168 have the latest firmware installed.
Action strongly recommended:
Download the latest R4 APEX (R4 APEX R0.07) and the latest firmware (ENGR010), which will wait longer for slower flashes.

Download the latest firmware via the link below and upload it to your device.
1. Download Firmware
Please choose one to download according to your location:
APEX LAP TIMER ONLY
- ENGR010 This update is strongly recommended for all users with firmware ENGR007 and also reccomended for users with ENGR009.
2. Connect Your Device
Launch SpeedAngle R4, go to MENU -> TOOLS -> LOG DOWNLOADER.
Click on “CONNECT DEVICE”. Once your timer has been connected, its firmware version will be shown at the bottom of the dialog window:
3. Upload Firmware
Click on “DEVICE FIRMWARE UPDATE” at the bottom. Read the warning message carefully, and then click OK.
Browse to find the latest firmware file you downloaded. The upload will take about 15 seconds. Once it is done, you will see “Firmware Update Success” beside the firmware version at the bottom of the dialog window.
During the update process, DO NOT power the device off, disconnect the device from the computer, or do anything that may interrupt the process. Otherwise, the firmware may be incomplete and can be fixed only by sending the device back to our warehouse.
4. Check Firmware on Device
To check if you device has been updated, simply close window and reopen and connect device. The firmware number R010 should be located just below Change User Name button. If it has DASH_APEX_ENG.R010 then your fimware upgrade has been applied.
